Cara Orlando

Cara led all of New York State in both home runs and RBIs in 2026, slugging 11 home runs as a sophomore at Pittsford Sutherland with 42 RBIs and a 1.550 OPS. She now holds Sutherland's single-season and career home run records, is on pace to finish among the top five home run hitters in New York State history, and was named third team all-state by the New York State Sportswriters' Association and first team All-Greater Rochester.

The biggest of those swings came in the 2026 postseason: a two-out, three-run home run that broke a scoreless tie and lifted the Knights past Eastridge 5-2 for the Section V Class AA2 championship. She also homered in the 13-1 semifinal rout of Pittsford Mendon, and earlier in the season hit two home runs in a single game. She has led Sutherland in home runs two straight years and finished second in the region last year, and was voted a News 8 WROC athlete of the week by area readers.

A multi-sport athlete with elite speed and competitive fire, Cara is also a varsity ski racer — a 4x sectional champion who placed 5th overall at the 2026 Section V Championships. She brings that same explosiveness to the outfield, with exceptional range and the versatility to contribute in the infield.
