Elise Barbour

Elise is one of the highest-ranked arms in the class of 2029. She owns the No. 1 ERA in Virginia for her class at 1.30, ranks No. 55 nationally and No. 4 in the Northeast Region in Extra Inning Softball's 2029 pitching rankings, and sits No. 21 nationally on Line Drive Media's Class of 2029 Hot 100.

The numbers hold up across a full year of national competition. In fall 2025 she threw 66.0 innings with 109 strikeouts — 1.65 per inning — against a 1.167 ERA, a .818 WHIP and a .132 opponent average. Over summer 2026 she logged 89.0 innings with 111 strikeouts, a 1.65 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and .186 BAA. She finished tied for 4th on the fall 2025 16U Super Division leaderboard for strikeouts per inning and 4th among Tier 1 pitchers at AFCS Nationals. She works fast, fills the zone, and misses bats without giving away free bases.

At Nansemond-Suffolk Academy she is a two-time VISAA Division II state champion — and as a freshman she was the one who got the ball in the title game. Elise started the 2026 state championship against Christchurch School and went six innings, allowing five hits and three runs, none of them earned, striking out six and walking one in a 7-3 win that gave the Saints their seventh consecutive state title. She had already started the TCIS championship earlier that spring and thrown two no-hit innings with five strikeouts and no walks, then gone 3 2/3 scoreless with five more strikeouts in the VISAA semifinal. A first-team All-State, All-Conference and All-Tidewater selection, she carries a 4.06 GPA with Academic Distinction both semesters and is an Extra Elite Scholar.
